my new favorite show (ok, so I have like 10 favorite shows) is #1 single on e! it’s a reality show starring lisa loeb and follows her on her hopeful path out of singledom. lisa is utterly a-freaking-dorable. she’s so sweet and cute and funny; so much like me. seriously though, I can relate to her plight as she suffers the same agonies that I did: being in my 30s and single, getting set up with doofi (that’s plural for doofus), feeling lonely, wondering about the future, searching for that someone special, and talking to mom about it all. she recalls to her mom when she’d be at a party and see “older people” there and she’d think how unfortunate they were to not be married yet. now she realizes that she’s one of those people. and the tears come. dude.
the premiere episode ended with her moving from los angeles to new york. on her flight she’ll meet a guy she got matched up with on airtroductions.
I hate the word refreshing, but that’s the best word I can use to describe this show. it airs sundays at 10 pm, but e! replays it several times throughout the week for those of you with a grey’s anatomy conflict.
my blogroll is missing. I don’t know where it went, but it’s gone, and I can’t promote my friends’ blogs without it. I’m going to have to find a band-aid for this until my blog tweaker bf can fix it. j.lo has a tweaker; I have a tweaker.
just so that reading this post wasn’t a complete waste of time, did you know that the buttafuocos and amy fisher are reuniting? joy of joys! the televised special has yet to be picked up by a network, but my bet is on fox. they can put it in arrested development‘s timeslot after it’s cancellation. where is the bluth love, fox? you put the 2-hour season finale on a friday, against the opening ceremonies of the winter olympics? I love the olympics, but I remain ever-loyal to the bluths, and will tune in to their swan song.
I think it’d be really funny if fox got a higher neilsen rating than the opening ceremonies. are you with me people? lemme hear ya say yeah!
I just read that christopher knight and barry williams will play a gay couple on an episode of fox’s that 70s show. they play new neighbors to topher’s tv family.
awesome casting.
this cracked me up. it’s a promo of lost: the musical, from jimmy kimmel. visit voodoo_in_tx and scroll down to the january 14 post. you can download a zipped quicktime version there.
my personal favorites are the opening number and the polar bear doing riverdance.
enjoy!
I know you’ve been on pins and needles waiting to hear what amtsj will present next season. so here ya go:
if you didn’t see monday night’s episode of arrested development, you may have missed your last chance to see the funniest emmy award-winning show that no one is watching. now it might be cancelled because of you.
the episode was about a charity benefit to pay for the legal fees for the bluth’s real estate business…a brilliant all-out plea to save the show from cancellation. it included all the tv show gimmicks: 3-d scenes, special guest stars, a “live” broadcast, and the death of one of the characters, just to get people to watch.
there are rumors that cable may pick up the show if fox decides to be an assface and kick it to the curb. here is how that possibility was portrayed in monday’s episode:
george: I don’t think the home builders organization is going to support us.
michael: yeah, the HBO is not going to want us. what are we going to do?
george: I think it’s show time.
if, by the grace of the fox gawds, this witty, intelligent show is not cancelled, pretty please will you watch it? for those of you who already do, thank you for doing your part. for those of you who don’t, well, I’m very disappointed in you. you may try to redeem yourself by putting a “savethebluths.org” ribbon on your car, or purchasing an orange rubber bracelet. (note: these items don’t really exist.)
and yes, I do realize there are more important things in the world than saving a tv show, but in my little world, this is my cause du jour. just humor me, wouldya?
